Madelynn Furlong, who had just moved with her husband and adorable dog from New York to Minnesota, immediately fell in love with this spacious loft with old brickwork and huge windows that fill the entire space with sunlight. The only problem was that this rented apartment had to be made cozy and homely, taking into account the elements that already existed and couldn’t be touched. The ugly light fixtures that spoiled the whole look, or the kitchen furniture from the 1980s, were just a case in point. But with some effort, the young couple managed to turn an impersonal, outdated space into a really stylish house with a character of its own. And, most interestingly, with a minimal investment of money.
They disguised everything they didn’t like as much as possible, handmade almost all the furniture, restored some details and adhered to the principles of minimalism. The inspiration came from nature itself and Scandinavian design, which is why there is a lot of white and different shades of light wood. As a result, we created a warm and cozy house with an incredibly disposing atmosphere, and looking at it you can’t even say it’s a rental house. I suggest that you take a virtual tour and note for yourself the ideas you like!
